Now that you know what cameras I film with, how do I edit my footage?
Video Editing Software
I use Adobe After Effects to edit my video, but if you’re a beginner and solely want to edit videos, I suggest using Adobe Premiere Pro because it’s not as complicated. I probably should be using Premiere since it’s better for video editing, but I use After Effects because I also do motion graphics, which Premiere can’t do.
Mic
For voice overs, I have this mic:
Blue Snowball iCE Condenser Microphone, Cardioid – White
You can record crystal clear audio without paying an arm and a leg for it. It’s also really easy and simple to use. You just need to plug it in to the USB port and voila!
Audio Editing Software
I use Audacity to record and edit my audio. It’s a free, open source, cross-platform audio software for multi-track recording and editing.
Headset
When I edit videos, I would play footage over and over again to find the right part to cut, which can get extremely annoying if there’s someone else in the room, so I’ll use my headset:
HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset for PC & PS4 – Gun Metal (KHX-HSCP-GM)
It had a detachable mic as well, which I can use for video or voice chat as well (or to play online games!)
And that’s what I use to get lost in my own little video editing world! Hopefully this helped you out and gets you inspired to start editing your own travel videos 😀
